Turtle Beach, Oahu, HI

On the North Shore is a beach known as Turtle Beach because sea turtles are often resting on the beach, or eating seaweed that grows on the rocks in the shallow water. There were 6 turtles on the beach when we were there. We stayed for 15 minutes or so, but they never moved.

One of the local volunteers, who help to keep the turtles roped off and to answer questions, said this was the most he'd ever seen in his 2 years of volunteering. But he has heard that there have been up to 12 turtles on the beach at one point.
